Çankaya University is a foundation university established by the Sıtkı Alp Education Foundation on July 9, 1997, in Etimesgut, Ankara. Founded by the same foundation, Çankaya University began its educational activities in the 1997–1998 academic year. The university has two campuses: one in Balgat and the other at the 29th kilometer of the Eskişehir Highway.
Except for the Faculty of Law, where the medium of instruction is Turkish, the language of education at Çankaya University is English. With approximately 8,000 students, the university currently continues its academic activities with 5 faculties, 20 departments, 2 vocational schools offering 3 programs, and 2 graduate institutes offering 23 master’s and 8 doctoral programs.
Located in the city center and about 35 kilometers from Ankara Esenboğa Airport, Çankaya University is easily accessible by private vehicles and various public transportation options.
